About Lauren R. Jahnke

I’m an artist and the owner of LRJ Designs. I have always noticed and appreciated the creative and colorful things in life, and I have been selling art and making gifts for several decades. My main artistic interests are acrylic painting and mixed media pieces, including using found objects and collage. I started out creating and selling functional art such as decoratively painted furniture and handmade clocks.

I am inspired by a variety of things including modern and architectural shapes, bold colors, science and nature (especially cactuses), found objects, fonts and wording (I’m also a writer), and music — with some whimsy and retro sensibilities thrown in!

I like to combine high creativity with mixed media and multiple methods to make unique creations, while allowing the final product to still be recognizable, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing.
